Education - B.A. in Music Portland State University 1981.

Played in the P.S.U. sinfonietta orchestra performing for ballet, opera, & concertos. Also performed original solo guitar and chamber music.

Influences - Too many to mention here, early influences include;

	1963 Elvis &The Beatles. With my brother Paul we started a cover band & played at local parties. we were pretty green but had a lot of fun acting like we could really play. In hindsight that is where I started developing my improvisational skills.

	1966 Motown. Started a band called The Soul Timers playing all the Motown Funk Brothers hits. We got pretty good and toured all over the State of Montana and playing at every High School Prom this side of the Missouri river.

	1974 Hendrix, Clapton, Trower. Living in San Francisco I saw some great shows at the old Winterland Theatre. Teaming up again with brother Paul and cousin Larry to form a jam band that almost caused a riot in Oakland CA.
	1980 Switched to Bluegrass, Jazz and Classical genres. Bill Monroe, Django Reinhardt, & J.S. Bach. Played Violin and Mandolin in Honeysuckle Rose a swing band that played local bars and Yacht Club parties in the Portland OR. area.
